RiseWell was created to help individuals, families, and caregivers understand complex healthcare situations, see the whole picture, and find a clear way forward.
Healthcare is personal.
A diagnosis, hospitalization, change in care needs, or difficult medical decision can quickly become bigger than the medical issue itself. There may be multiple providers, conflicting information, insurance requirements, family concerns, practical barriers, and more decisions than anyone feels prepared to make.
In the middle of that complexity, people are often expected to organize the details, understand the system, and decide what to do next without anyone helping them step back and see the whole picture.
RiseWell believes that understanding comes before confidence. When people can make sense of their situation, understand their options, and identify what matters most, they are better prepared to make informed decisions for themselves or someone they love.
Our role is not to make decisions for you. It is to help you understand your situation, bring clarity to the choices ahead, and support you as you determine the next best step.
My Story
Long before I knew patient advocacy was a profession, I was already doing the work.
After spending years caring for patients, I realized that some of the most meaningful moments in my nursing career were not the clinical or technical ones.
They were the conversations.
Sitting beside a patient or family member. Explaining something in a way they could finally understand. Helping them make sense of what was happening. Answering questions they did not know how to ask. Validating what they were feeling. Helping them feel a little less overwhelmed and a little more confident about what came next.
Those were the moments patients and families remembered—and the moments when I felt I could make the greatest difference.
As I learned more about the profession of patient advocacy, I realized it aligned with the part of nursing I had always loved most. I went on to spend the next year working as a professional patient advocate, helping individuals and families navigate complex healthcare situations.
That experience confirmed what I already knew: people often need more than information or a list of tasks. They need someone who will listen, understand the full situation, connect the pieces, and help them see a clear path forward.
Today, I bring together my experience as a registered nurse and professional patient advocate to help individuals, families, and caregivers understand the whole picture, make informed healthcare decisions, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
